You should write a 1000 word (maximum) policy brief for the module “Capitalism and the public good”. The best policy briefs will propose a clear policy that will enhance the public good. The rationale and justification for the policy will be clear, logical and well-organised and it will draw on the material we have discussed in class. Links between proposal and the module should be clear and the broad issues should draw on the issues covered throughout the module.
You should write in full sentences and paragraphs NOT in bullet points. You may use tables and figures to support your arguments. You should certainly draw on academic literature. You may also use sub-headings if you feel it helps.
However, the exact format the essay takes is up to you. The most important criteria against which the piece will be judged relates to the clarity of the argument, the quality of the analysis and the relevance and quality of the theory/evidence. Key will be how persuasive your argument is for your policy recommendation(s).
