 Learning Objectives

• Apply the principles of knowledge management to clinical decision processes.
• Define the essential features of a knowledge-based decision support system.
• Identify the types and levels of knowledge related to knowledge-based decision support.
• Understand the structure and function of electronic medical records, electronic health records, and personal health records.
• Describe the assumptions that different clinical decision processes make about the structure and financing of health systems.
