Discipline: English
Directions:
(1) All papers are to be completed using MLA format.
(2) 1500 words (Title page, about 5 typed double spaced pages with your essay, and the works cited page)
(3) The works cited page should contain between 3 and 8 sources. I will not accept Internet sources not directly taken and cited through the SCF library databases. If you attempt to include a source from the Internet, then I will consider it an error and subtract that source from your works cited page. If you are left with under the minimum number of sources, this will have a negative impact on your essay.
(4) You are required to utilize at least one primary source (the fiction texts assigned for class) and at least two secondary sources (these come from your research).
(5) Remember that even if you cannot find articles about your specific short stories, writers frequently employ the same techniques and themes in much of their work. Read as much criticism as you can about your chosen work; you will be surprised how much information is available to give you insight into your particular work.
