Term Project
- Explore the subject of storms beyond the classroom
- Filter and synthesize diverse information from several sources
- Familiarise oneself with academic writing/formatting
- Develop initiative, allow a personal creative touch
- Text between 8 and 12 pages
- between 5 and 10 figures
dissipation, ‘anatomy’ (ie. three dimensional-structure of a storm)
its speed and direction of movement,
associated phenomena: wind gusts, precipitation type/pattern, etc
You should write as if you were addressing someone that has your
level of understanding of the subject of storms.
- Should be a very concise summary of what follows
- An outline of the layout of the report.
- Explain the reason you are undertaking this study, why is it interesting.
Analysis
- Presentation of the topic. The data it is based on. The method of analysis.
- Can include formulae and equations. Can include Tables.
- Should include Figures.
- For every information stated there should be reference to the source
(articles, books, workshop proceedings, etc)
Discussion
- A critical assessment of what you present in the Analysis section.
Conclusions
- What you want the reader to remember as the most important and the best
supported idea
Bibliography
- only reputable sources which includes books, journal articles, proceedings
