The essays should be 3 pages with a minimum of two sources, with a complete Works Cited page in MLA format.
Here’s what the essay should have:
- An introduction that gives some background about the speech.
- Three separate body paragraphs that apply ETHOS, PATHOS, and LOGOS (though not necessarily in that order)
- A conclusion that wraps up your analysis and announces how well (or not) the speaker uses rhetorical appeals to convince the audience.
Criteria:
– Introduction is Clear and has a Clear Thesis Statement
– Paragraph dedicated to Ethos
– Paragraph dedicated to Pathos
– Paragraph dedicated to Logos
– Conclusion Paragraph
– MLA Formatting and Sources. Two sources minimum, Works Cited page, and In-Text Citations
– MLA Formatting, Fiddly Bits. Header, Heading, Spacing, and Margins
– Page Count. Three full pages minimum.
