Now that you have some familiarity with the genealogy of Aboriginal rights, I would like you to characterize the two fundamentally different ways that Indigenous peoples are “accommodated” in law and politics.
It is important to have a clear sense of the differences between the delegated and inherent approaches to understanding the meaning and content of Aboriginal rights in Canadian law. However, you should also be thinking about their similarities. For example, what do they share in common, especially in terms of the language they use to articulate and situate their positions?
