(3 pages) For the introduction, you will develop the following:
- A. Overview of the topic. What is the Psychoanalytic topic you chose? What are operational definitions involved with this topic (be sure to cite)
- B. Discussion of your chosen contemporary issue. What is the issue? Why is it important to Personality Psychology? Why is it important to society? What is the scope of the issue? (think stats, relationships. economic costs, educational impact, etc). Essentially, you want to show that you are studying an important issue.
- C. Make a solid connection linking your Psychoanalytic topic with your contemporary issue. How are they related? Use examples, and evidence from existing research studies.
- D. Introduce your proposed study on the topic. (One paragraph stating what research you propose to conduct on the topic and how you propose to conduct it)
IV. Proposed Methodology and Materials (2 pages)
- A. Identify important details about who your chosen participants would be and why? Identify critical socio-demographic factors of the people you seek to recruit for your study.
- B. Identify your chosen methodology of study (E.g., experiment, survey, case study, quasi-experiment, qualitative study. Be sure to explain why you chose this methodology. What are the strengths and weaknesses of this methodology and how will you use this information to ensure your study is of high quality?
V. Conclusion (1 Page)
- In a clear, concise and professional tone, summarize the main points of your topic and what you would anticipate finding if you were to conduct this study.
- Refresh your reader on what past researchers have found with regard to your topic and how your study would add to this literature.
