Analysis Paper Part 1
A scientific analysis paper applying the
theories and concepts covered in the course to your selected Healthy People 2030
objective.

Provide a brief summary of your
selected Healthy People 2030 objective
·
Explain why achieving this objective
is important to public health in the United States and, specifically Arkansas.
This should be informed epidemiologic research published in the literature on
your objective/topic.
·
Describe key health behavior changes that
are recommended to achieve your objective as well as potential factors (e.g., predisposing,
enabling, and reinforcing factors; perceived barriers and benefits) to carrying
out these recommended health behavior changes. This should be informed by BOTH
qualitative research as well as epidemiologic research on your objective/topic.

Critique the appropriateness of the
qualitative data collection methods used in the literature that you reference

Apply the Social Ecological Model by
McLeroy et al, 1988 to categorize at least 2 factors at each level that can
influence achieving your selected objective. The factors discussed should be supported
by qualitative and/or epidemiologic research.
Format
No less than 2 and no more than 4 typewritten pages
(cover page and reference page do not count towards the page requirement).
Paper needs to be double spaced, font size no smaller than 11 and no larger
than 12, 1-inch margins [sides, header, and footer], Calibri or Arial font, and
submitted via Black Board to the instructor by the due date. The paper should
have a cover page and a reference page (APA format is required). You should
appropriately incorporate a minimum of 4 references. DO NOT place pictures, graphs, charts, or tables in your paper.

paper should cite at least
four peer-reviewed journal articles on qualitative and epidemiologic
research about your Healthy People 2030 topic/objective to cover the
requirements of this analysis paper. Note on References taken from a website:

reference/bibliography page of your paper. The url alone is not sufficient. Please note that Wikipedia and other
related sites should not be included as one of your sources.
Professional
articles from the Internet must be full text; and, must have a
reference/bibliography citing its’ sources at the conclusion of the
article. Do not use your lecture notes
as a source or the instructor as a reference in the paper. A maximum of 2
short (less than 20 words) direct quotes from referenced work are permitted.
It is best to use your own words to summarize the content. References should be
in APA format.
Analysis Paper Part 2
Healthy
People 2030 Analysis Paper is a scientific analysis paper applying the theories
and concepts covered in the course to your selected Healthy People 2030
objective. Please do not repeat the definitions of theoretical constructs or
CBPR principles. Rather, apply what you have learned in class to your topic
based on the published literature. Using your selected Healthy People 2030
objective complete the following requirements for the paper. This paper
should not include content from Part 1 of the Analysis Paper. Please only
address the content detailed below.
Section
I.
·
Identify and discuss critical health
disparities related to your selected objective and factors that influence these
disparities
·
Discuss the means
by which structural bias, social inequities, and racism undermine your selected
health topic and create challenges to achieving health equity at
organizational, community and societal levels.
·
Analyze ethical considerations related
to achieving your selected objective.
Section II.
·
Describe how two behavioral
interventions with published results in at least two separate peer-reviewed articles
address your selected Healthy People objective and apply at least two health
behavior theories discussed in class lectures.
Look carefully at what the developers of the interventions DID in the
interventions being referenced. Not just if they used the terms provided in
lectures.

Based on the literature, which
behavioral theory “fits” better with your topic/objective? Justify your answer.
·
Describe and justify the process,
impact, and outcome methods used to evaluate both referenced interventions (a
total of at least six evaluation methods).
o NOTE:
Most articles will not discuss all three types of evaluation. Consequently, if your
articles do NOT describe in detail the methods used to conduct either the
process, impact, or outcome evaluations, select methods that you would use to
carry out the missing type of evaluation. Justify your selection of evaluation
methodology.

For each intervention, evaluate which
CBPR principles were used by the intervention developers and which principles
were not used.
·
Propose strategies to identify
stakeholders, build coalitions and partnerships, and communicate public health
content in a culturally appropriate manner that would support the incorporation
of the missing CBPR principles.
