Papers should be approximately 5 double-spaced pages (12-point Times New Roman
font with 1-inch margins on the document). This equates to approximately 1,400 words. Any
sources used, including any assigned readings or lecture material, must be cited in APA (7th ed.)
format. Moreover, papers must include reference pages. Papers that do not include reference pages
with complete APA citations for any cited sources will be subject to a reduction of 5 points.
Additionally, a complete reference page will be requested in order for the paper to be graded.
Option 2: COVID-19’s Continued Influence on Communication Practices Across Contexts
Although COVID-19 infections continue, it’s been quite some time since we’ve seen widespread
mandated lockdowns, masking (except in certain spaces, such as medical facilities), and social
distancing. Nevertheless, the pandemic poses ongoing risks to many people. It also continues to
shape people’s behavior the world over. This paper asks you to analyze specific ways in which
the COVID-19 pandemic has continued to shape specific forms of nonverbal communication in
2024. This can include such issues as home design, workplace communication codes and office
design, various forms of organization communication (e.g., organization assimilation), the look
and feel of public spaces (e.g., city downtowns, restaurants), and interpersonal interaction

There are various ways you can go with this paper, but it must be grounded in concepts from this course as well as outside research from peer-reviewed sources. There must also be a clear theme in the paper that coheres around a set of claims. For this paper, you must cite a minimum of six sources, at least three of which must be from peer reviewed sources (journal articles) or academic book chapters published within (approximatley) the last 12 months. Each course concept you reference in the paper should be set in bold.
