Task
1:
The achievements of the United Arab Emirates have become a significant
topic of discussion among intellectuals, political figures, and economists
alike. This is due to the distinctive human and natural factors that were once
obstacles to success for the UAE but have now become the driving force for
development and progress among nations. This is evident in all aspects of life,
and we see it clearly in various facets. Among these topics are the following:
1. Sustainable Urban Development in UAE Cities: Explore sustainable infrastructure and
development projects to address the growing urbanization in cities like Dubai
and Abu Dhabi.
2. Water Conservation and Management: Investigate innovative water
conservation methods and sustainable water management practices, considering
the arid climate of the UAE.
3. Renewable Energy Integration: Analyze the feasibility of integrating more
renewable energy sources like solar and wind into the UAE’s energy grid.
4. Smart City Technologies: Explore the implementation of smart
technologies to enhance the efficiency of services and utilities in UAE cities.
5. Entrepreneurship Ecosystem:
Examine the current state of entrepreneurship in the UAE and propose
strategies to further boost the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
6. Healthcare Accessibility and Innovation: Evaluate the accessibility and innovation in
the healthcare sector, suggesting improvements to ensure quality healthcare for
all residents.
7. Education Reform: Investigate ways to enhance the education
system, focusing on incorporating technology and adapting to the evolving needs
of the job market.
8. Tourism Sustainability: Examine sustainable tourism practices to
balance the economic benefits of tourism with the preservation of the
environment and local culture.
9. Traffic Management and Transportation Solutions: Evaluate the
current transportation infrastructure and propose solutions to ease traffic
congestion and enhance public transportation.
10. Community Engagement and Social Integration: Develop projects that encourage community
engagement and social integration among the diverse population of the UAE.
11. Climate Change Adaptation Strategies: Investigate strategies for the UAE to adapt to
and mitigate the impacts of climate change, considering the region’s
vulnerability to rising temperatures.
12. Economic Diversification: Analyze strategies for diversifying
the UAE’s economy beyond oil and gas, exploring new sectors for sustainable
economic growth.
Choose a topic to write an essay
about (1500 words) and prepare a presentation (15 Slides) accordingly.
1- Make a team of FIVE students
and choose a team leader to effectively coordinate and divide the
necessary tasks and draft a report of a minimum of 1500 words on the following
tasks:
2- The selected project should be submitted
on BB on 04-03-24 and a hard copy to the lecturer on the same date, along
with the team members’ names and students’ IDs. (The project will not be
accepted if the approval from the lecturer has not been taken.)
3- The group will work together to
find information from reliable resources about the topic that has been selected. If the information is being
taken from an internet site, then it is important to rephrase that information
in your own words and provide reference and in-text citations.
(Clearly separate the report
into the following sections) the group will present their topic at the end of
the semester in the form of presentations. The date of the presentation will be
announced later.
4- At the end of the semester the
group will present (Orally) their findings in the form of a presentation.
The exact date of the presentation will be
communicated later. Maximum 15 slides. [ 10 marks]
Report
Requirements:
1- Introduction
to be provided on the selected topic in a brief paragraph.
2- A brief literature
review should be written in the first body paragraph. The study should include readings from articles, journals,
newspapers, and other sources of information on social changes in the UAE.
3- Discuss the present
situation of the topic you have chosen. Explain how the topic has been examined. Include tables/charts/graphs and provide
clear explanatory notes for each image/table/chart that you include.
4- Discuss the future of your topic and what the plans are to
achieve its goals and objectives.
5- List the exact references
as footnotes on the respective pages or at the end of the report, use the APA
style of referencing, and cite the information specifically the years,
dates, and percentages mentioned, for the source of information for each of the
above points. The assignment could be rejected if the references are not
verifiable.
