Introduction: Summarize the author’s argument and book overall, State your argument about the book. ( must have a strong analytical argument to hold the paper together throughout) So start the paper off strong and detailed !
Body: Support argument with sources throughout the reading and add your own opinions as well. Analyze the book and demonstrate why your perspective on it is correct. Answer the following questions:
What is the author’s argument ?
Does the author’s argument make sense?
Why or why not ? ( Do not summarize the book, this is what the introduction was for )
Make an original argument about the supporting ideas. Make topic sentences directly related back to your overall argument. Keep reitierating your core point !
Conclusion: Reflect thoughtfully on the meaning of the book in the broader scope of Global Cold War history. (questions to consider: Why is it important that anyone reads this book ? Why does this subject matter? What historical conclusions if any can we draw ?
