Criminology Question:

Select a substantive or theoretical area of study in criminology to write a 5000-6500 word review  paper (exclusive of references and footnotes, which are highly discouraged) in the style of the  Annual Review of Criminology. The paper should draw on a subset of relevant readings,  including research published in the major criminology journals, to do each of the following: 1)  Review the development of scholarship on this topic over time, including how both theory and  methods on the topic have been developed, tested and refined; 2) Detail the current state of  knowledge, and wherever relevant, describe the policy and/or practice implications of this body  of work; and 3) Delineate key questions that remain unanswered or that need further empirical  inquiry, and detail possible approaches to advance such a line of inquiry. Please note, this  response needs to address a topic that does not duplicate the response in Law & Society. This  review paper exam must be the independent, original work of the examinee, produced during the  exam period, and should not be written in consultation or collaboration with others, including  other students or faculty members. Consultation with faculty members on a limited basis, for  example about specific concepts or references, is allowed and encouraged.
