I do need it to take an hour for my presentation and it is based on a research paper I wrote
For this, the second assignment, you are to produce the PowerPoint presentation you will in part use for conducting an actual presentation related to victimology to your chosen audience. It is to be clearly based in the research you did in Assignment One.
Your PowerPoint should reflect a presentation of about an hour in length. The PowerPoint is to reflect the slides you would use for the full presentation. Please do not use audio or video links in your slides as too often these are mere filler. Pictures, graphs, and other teaching aids are OK. Boring slides are OK, but not encouraged; a little razzle dazzle is nice, just consider your audience and your goals in making the presentation. Neither razzle nor dazzle will substitute for substance; your goal is to inform/educate and not entertain. Please ensure that you base the points and or ideas expressed in the slides on the source material from Assignment One; remember that an audience member can challenge you on your presentation and you would need to be able to support what you said. Although the materials from Assignment One are the basis for the presentation, citations are not necessary for the PowerPoint as this is not common for in-service training or community presentations; however, you will need to have a ‘sources used’ slide at the end.
Your topic must be clearly and logically related to this course and to a specific audience, be it a patrol shift or the Noon Lions Club. To begin, identify a narrow topic with which you wish to work. Identify your audience and their needs in terms of what they need to know about your chosen topic. Your PowerPoint and your video presentation must address the topic so as to engage your audience; that is, it must clearly be of value to them.
The presentation must directly relate to victimology; please do not develop a presentation that is mostly law or management science and please, please do not make this into a polemic about the politics of social justice; we need objectivity and scholarship.
