A series of three short leadership essays will be required to demonstrate your ability to understand the course material and apply its insights to leadership situations. They will be done on an individual basis.  In advance of these, you will select a community issue and an organization that addresses that issue.  A brief one-page summary of this choice is due on the second week of class. Then, for each of the three subsequent deliverables, you should select one of the case options for that ‘leadership toolbox’ section and show how the course material can explain, predict, and recommend action.  The essays should be a maximum of one single spaced page and organized in the following manner: [1] core insights of case, [2] analysis of focal leader using relevant course concepts/theories, [3] two or three specific recommendations, derived from the preceding analysis, on how to improve and/or sustain the leadership function for your focal organization, and [4] two or three lessons that you will carry forward on your personal/professional leadership journey.
