Using the outline provided (attached), write 1500 word essay (adhering to the principles of academic writting; attached)
The essay should have:
• a good title
• a proper academic introduction
• an excellent thesis that focuses on the primary source
• a roadmap
• a persuasive argumentation (with at least three arguments)
• effective sign-posting
• a good and relevant conclusion
• proper references and a bibliography
• everything formatted and styled according to the AW
template/Chicago rules.
-> go through the ppt slides for more details on evaluation/grading criteria of the essay.
-> FOCUS ON THE PRIMARY SOURCE! and back up your arguments with secondary sources!
-> You are only allowed to use the sources discussed in class. You must use all three secondary sources at least once.
-> This essay is first and foremost an exercise in precision. It has been deliberately made very restrictive: you have only four sources and 1500 words. This calls for some very careful thinking.
-> Your focus should be on close reading, critical thinking, effective, correct and precise argumentation and knowing how to structure, style and format properly. In other words: demonstrate that you understand the rules of academic writing.
