    • Your essay must have a specific and detailed thesis that clearly states your main points about the texts and the significance of each novel’s expression of the theme(s) engaged with via the connections you discuss.
    • Your essay must use specific passages from the works to support your claims.
    • You must explain IN DETAIL how your quoted evidence supports your thesis.

      • Go for a reading of the texts that pushes past a standard reading of the texts, a reading that explores the nuances of the text and teases out some insightful connections between the texts.
