Background: As a manager, you will make many decisions based on the available data. As part of this
assignment, you will analyze the “CIS-165-Employee Sample Data” data posted on Moodle. Each section
below will help you create the documents that you will be submitting as part of your final project:
• Identify the dollar amounts for each question as appropriate.
• You will be asked to show your work individually.
Assumptions: It is assumed that you have followed all class/lab instructions and have completed all
required sections in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Section One (10 marks)
1. You completed and uploaded MS Word Lab Practice components when asked to do so.
• Your instructor evaluated you during your final project meeting, and you demonstrated your
proficiency based on what you learned from lab practice.
2. You completed and uploaded MS Excel Lab Practice components when asked to do so.
• Your instructor evaluated you during your final project meeting and you were able to
demonstrate your proficiency based on what you learned from lab practice.
Section Two (Telling a Story With Your Data)
(10 Marks for Meaningful and Justifiable Insights Using MS Excel)
Assume that you are a manager for this business. Utilizing the data from the “CIS-165-Employee Sample
Data” file, please provide at least 5 managerial insights into your business for the future. Managerial
analysis is something that you perform where you use data to make a future business decision and
justify it.
Remember from our class conversation that data represents the raw facts, and the sample data file
holds these facts. It’s your responsibility to transform this raw data into meaningful information by
processing it.
Research Requirements:
• You will use Microsoft Excel, as you learned in this course, to analyze and generate insights.
o Naming the file: You must name your Excel Analysis File in this format:
▪ First Name, Last Name – Student Number – Excel Analysis
▪ Example: Muhammad, Rahman – 1234567 – Excel Analysis
Paper Requirements for the 5 Managerial Insight (5 Marks):
• You will use MS Word, as you learned in this course, to prepare a professional-looking research
paper with your insights.
• Specific requirements:
o Font size: 12
o Font name: Calibri
o Line Spacing: 1.5 lines
o Cover page: Yes
o Naming the File: First Name, Last Name – Student Number – Word Document
o All academic standards apply, including no plagiarism, spelling mistakes, grammar
mistakes.
• You will be required to demonstrate your proficiency in MS Word.
Presentation Requirement for using MS PowerPoint (5 Marks):
• You will use Microsoft PowerPoint to do a presentation. DO NOT use any templates.
• Specific requirements:
o At least five slides
o Appropriate fonts and color
o Naming the File: First Name, Last Name – Student Number – PowerPoint
o All academic standards apply, including no plagiarism, spelling mistakes, or grammar
mistakes.
• You will be required to demonstrate your proficiency in MS PowerPoint.
Submission Requirements:
1. MS Word document with the 5 insights following instructions (1 Document Only).
2. MS Excel document with all your analysis following instructions (1 Document Only).
3. MS PowerPoint document with your presentation following instructions (1 Document Only).
Due Dates:
• 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 20, 2024
o Avoid emailing attachments under any circumstances.
o Refrain from sending emails about technical issues on the due date.
o With over five weeks to complete this, there’s no excuse for failing to follow instructions
and meet the submission deadline.
o There’s no justification for not understanding and adhering to the expectations set.
Individual Presentations (10 Marks):
• Group 1: During the week of March 25, 2024
• Group 2: During the week of April 1, 2024
• Group 3: During the week of April 8, 2024
Student names for each group will be posted on Moodle closer to the time.
It’s essential for you to showcase your skill level, which means completing your work is crucial.
Understanding the details of this assignment and adhering to all provided instructions is just as vital.
Mastery in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint cannot be achieved overnight. It is crucial that you
