Critically and analytically discuss the current Information Systems landscape of an
organisation. Evaluate the strategic drivers and
leadership challenges, including human aspects, such as ‘resistance to change’. You will provide
insights as to how Information Systems strategically address operational issues and improve
efficiencies. Provide a critical and comparative review of Information Systems, such as Enterprise
Resources Planning (ERP) Systems, both positive and negative, from a strategic, leadership and
tactical perspective, and address readiness to incorporate contemporary developments, such as
Machine Learning (ML), big data analytics (BDA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), amongst others.

1. Choose any organisation in any sector as an example. You may use the example of clickup as an ERP within mobile gaming development and publishing company.

2. Critically discuss Information Systems, by reviewing appropriate, current academic literature. In your discussion, consider a brief historic review of Information Systems, and

discuss various types of Information Systems, such as ERP systems and contrast solutions-
based systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) vs. best-of-breed solutions, as well as their strengths

and weaknesses.

3. Evaluate the existing impact that contemporary Information Systems have on the
organisation and critically assess their role in integrating all parts of the organisation.
Include cloud-based applications, big data analytics (BDA), machine learning (ML) and
other such contemporary developments.
4. Critically evaluate, from a Leadership perspective, the drivers for selecting, hosting,
deploying, developing and managing Information Systems on the selected organisation.
Discuss Agility in the context of Information Management. The evaluation should also
focus on different aspect of Agile methodologies.
5. Present recommendations: Identify areas of strategic advantage and the potential
operational gains from using contemporary information and big data management in
organisations. Also identify and possible arguments and downsides of adaptation, such as
impact of costs, the effects on existing IT departments, operational consolidation and
efficiency improvement initiatives which impact on competitive advantage.
