Another format for organizing distinct main points in a clear manner is the problem-cause-solution speech pattern. The problem-cause-solution organizational pattern organizes the argument by describing a problem, identifying what you believe is causing the problem, and then recommend a solution to correct the problem.

Step 1-Describing the problem: First, identify the problem/topic and provide some background information. You must establish that this is indeed a problem and affects people in some way. 

Step 2-You must identify the root of the problem and what caused the issue in the first place. Why does this problem persist?

Step 3-You must then recommend a solution to this problem and argue how the problem can be solved if this solution is implemented.
