Your essay should be approximately 4 pages in length (and absolutely NO MORE than five pages). Remember that your essay must be typed in a Times New Roman 12-point font. Double space your paper, format it with one inch margins, and be sure to follow the instructions on the syllabus regarding the information you need to include in the upper left-hand corner of the paper. Your essay must also have a Direct Thesis Statement and directly corresponding topic sentences. Your essay should be only five or six paragraphs, and each of your three or four body paragraphs should cover one of your subtopics (be sure to refer to the Liberal Arts Colleges Template in Modules as an example. Your essay MUST follow this format).
Topic:
Write a contrast essay in which you focus on the main differences between Trifles and “A Jury of Her Peers.” Rather than focusing on a lot of small differences, however, choose 3 or 4 instances where the two texts differ significantly.
You do not need a Works Cited list when you submit your essay; however, you will be required to submit one later, after we practice making Works Cited lists in MLA style. Also, I expect you to use quotations at least 4 times in your essay. You will need to include in-text citations in MLA style in the draft you submit on the due date.
