Comments: In the introduction (the paragraph(s) before the
“Theoretical Orientation section), the significance of the study needs to come
from the literature. So, you need to use the literature to talk about why this
is an important topic in the field. This does not need to have a ton of
sources, but you should have at least a couple (2-3) that ground the
introduction in the literature. The significance of a study can only be derived
from the published scholarly literature. The supporting examples for the
significance also need to come from the literature.

Comments: My confidence is a bit undermined by
the incorrect age in the first sentence of the review of the literature. There
is a lot of good information here–but it’s very siloed. you tend to have your
literature review set up more like an annotated bibliography: each source is
discussed in its own paragraph. That doesn’t allow for the bigger themes to
emerge or for you to show your reader common threads across all of your
sources. So, instead of having just one or two different sources in each
paragraph, organize it more thematically so you are pulling a major theme from
the literature and citing lots of sources (briefly) that talk about this theme.
But really think here about themes rather than individual topics/articles.

Comments: The specific synthesis section of the paper also needs to
have citations and to really show me how you are connecting the various
sources. Right now, that section has only one citation, so it’s not exactly
clear how the sources themselves are being used. Think of this section as a
high-level executive summary where you are boiling down all of the critical
pieces of information on the literature into just a paragraph or two.
Essentially, you are creating a holistic and meaningful review of the entire
literature (and, hopefully, all of the 20+ sources you cited there) for your
reader in this section.

Comments: The citations are a bit sparse here.
