The paper must consist of two sections with the first section being one page and the rest of the pages being the second section.
The first section needs to engage the reader and identify the topic, outlining a clear central idea. It sets the reader up for the remainder of the paper and has a smooth transition into the second section. The first section needs to clearly identify the macro client in terms of population, problem, and arena. Attention needs to be given to the political/policy context and data needs to be used to provide meaningful context. The introduction should show development of thought and use of class materials, laying out a plan for the paper in full. The first section should also Give the reader a very broad-strokes outline of your assessment and hypothesis of change.
Firsts ection should also include at least two sources of demographic data about the population referenced in the introduction.
Be sure to include:
- Prevalence and demographic statistics
- Statistics on outcomes and severity of the impact of the problem
- History of the problem
- Relevant social policies
Section 2 should utilize a minimum of four peer-reviewed journal articles that help to understand the macro problem as well as a handful (this varies, assume at least three or four) of sources such as government websites, etc., to help provide your statistics and demographic information. This should all be framed with a change process lens and engagement and assessment processes, or discussion of policies at the state or local level. If you were looking to improve the situation, how would you go about it using this model. It’s important that you “tell the story” of the problem – population-arena – and help your reader connect all of the data around the issue.
Attached is the original paper. It needs to flow more clearly and be edited to reflect the above instructions. It needs to be not as forced and some sections need to be more detailed to get the information presented more clearly.
