Describe the Event: Describe the movie in one paragraph. The description should be in sufficient
detail that someone unfamiliar with the movie could understand what happened.
Describe your Concept: Describe the concept you are using to explain the event in one
paragraph. You can choose any concept covered in this class (e.g., realistic conflict theory, social identity theory, and aversive prejudice). Give a brief description of the concept to show that you understand it and its relevance to this class
Describe How the Concept Explains the Movie: Use the concept to explain
the event in the movie. Do not pick an act of discrimination and then describe all of the different theories and research findings on discrimination. Rather, pick an event that can be understood by invoking, for example, realistic conflict theory or social identity theory, and prove it by describing how specific aspects of the event illustrate the concept you selected.
Note: each “connection” (3) should focus on a different event and a different concept. Thus, your paper should cover 3 different events and 3 different concepts.
