View the whole Babies documentary (all 7 parts). The link and some basic information on the infants can be found at the end of these instructions. Then choose any 2 of the following discussion questions. Offer a 1-2 paragraph response for each of your selected questions. That means a minimum of 2 paragraphs, 1 for each question, and hopefully a bit more. Please try your best to relate what you observed in the documentary to at least one concept or theory from our class so far.
- What the filmmakers capture on film provides a unique perspective on the upbringing of each of the babies. While each story is unique, what are some of the universal themes that run through each child’s story?
- In what way did this movie most impact you? What are your thoughts about the cultural differences you observed?
- There are multitudes of different philosophies about raising children. After watching this film have your thoughts on how to raise children changed at all? How and why, or why not?
- Were you able to relate to a particular mother and child more than the others? Why?
- Did this film make you consider the support system you have or might have to raise a child? How did the support systems among each of the babies differ?
