Overview

This assignment is designed to help you formulate a thesis that you think you may use in your “Who does Matthew Say Jesus is” paper and to provide an outline of the key points you anticipate being in that paper. This will offer you an opportunity to share where you think your final paper is going and for the instructor to offer feedback at an earlier stage in the writing process.   • The outline portion of this assignment should note the major themes, motifs, or big ideas you will develop in your argument about how Matthew portrays Jesus. Describe these main points and at least note some relevant texts from Matthew that will help you develop the ideas. It is acceptable to use bullet points for this section, but they should be well-developed and descriptive bullet points. Remember the goal is to give the instructor an idea of where you are going so that they can offer better feedback that will help you later when it comes time to write your “who does Matthew say Jesus is” paper. The more developed your ideas, the better feedback you can expect. 

  • The “Who does Matthew say Jesus is” essay must engage at least any two required readings from the course other than the Bible.
