Title/Cover Page – Include Title (Topic Thesis Statement) of the paper, your name, course
number, date, and the instructor’s name.
Table of Contents (Outline) – Write your outline. In the end, this outline will become your Table
of Contents with page numbers. (Be sure to paginate your paper).
PART I. Executive Summary – This is a “summary” of the entire paper and will be written last.
After you have written your entire paper, you write a short 1- 2 page summary of what is in your
paper. In other words, if you were to give a proposal to a very busy executive, s/he would not
have time to sit down and read 3 or 4 long proposals. That executive would read the Introduction
(Executive Summary) of all the proposals and if s/he came across one that looked more interesting,
that is the one that would get read in its entirety.
Part II. Company Background (1 page) – A brief history of the company and its position in the
industry in which it operates.
Part III. Literature Review (5-10 pages) – Evaluate published information in the subject area/s
and use it as a foundation and support for your thesis statement. The aim is to summarize and
synthesize the arguments and ideas of writers. Sources at least 5 professional references (books,
journal articles, and websites).
Part IV. Research Methodology (1 page) – Describe the design of the research paper, sampling
method, and the research model. (Please note that your data collection instrument(s) should consist
of 15 to 20 questions. Your data collected should be analyzed)
Part V. Presentation of data in appropriate form using tables, charts, and graphs, (where
applicable).
Part VI. Results and discussions (5-6 pages) – Analyze the findings. This is the main part of your
paper. Part VII. Conclusions and Recommendations to Management (1 page) – What steps can your
company take to make the improvements to the problems listed in Part VI? How could your
company make it better? The ideal final project would be a product that you could actually present
to your management.
Part VI. References – Any part of your paper that has any ideas or materials that have come from
published sources must be cited and referenced to avoid plagiarism.
