Slides 2 and/or 3 – Introduction and Overview: Provide an introduction to your chosen question or topic.
Address the “who, what, when, where, and why” regarding the topic or question.
Slides 3 and/or 4 – Criminal (Illegal) or Deviant Behavior: Define and emphasize the specific behavior under consideration.
Explain why society views this behavior negatively.
Slides 4 and/or 5 – Theory of Crime: Define the criminological theories you are applying.
Explain how the chosen theory or theories explain the criminal or deviant behavior.
Slides 5 and/or 6 – Victims of the Behavior: Discuss who the victims of this behavior are and how they are affected, both in the short and long term.
Explore whether the behavior can be changed and, if so, how society can facilitate this change.
Slides 7 and/or 8 – Offenders: Analyze the theoretical perspectives on the actions of the offenders.
Explain how, according to these theories, society can mitigate the behavior.
Assess whether individuals involved are treated fairly by the criminal justice system, and consider any disparities, especially for minority offenders.

Offer reasoning behind your recommendations.

Slides 10 and/or 11 – Personal Opinion (Substantiated by facts through your research): Share your informed perspective on what society can do to correct an individual’s behavior.

Slides 12 and/or 13 – References (APA Format): Dedicate these slides for listing references used in your presentation.
Ensure that you have a minimum of 5 references from credible sources.

- Slide Text: Keep bullet points concise and avoid long sentences on your slides. Avoid cramming too much information onto a single slide.
- Background and Text Color: Use a simple background and text color scheme. Black text is generally preferred for visibility.
- Images and Visuals: You may use .jpeg images and clip art to supplement your presentation, but do so in moderation. Avoid excessive use of images, as they can be distracting.
- Sound Effects: Do not include sound effects in your presentation.
- Research Depth: Dig deep into your research to address the selected topic(s). Gain a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.
- Substantiated Responses: All information presented in your PPT must be substantiated through research. Avoid cutting and pasting or copying verbatim from sources. Present the information in your own words.
- References: Include at least 5 references in APA format from reputable sources. Sources may include books (Encyclopedia of Criminological TheoryLinks to an external site., & Textbook), peer-reviewed journals, professional journals, and court case information from Federal or State Courts, and official government agencies. Use APA formatted citations within your presentation.
