ASSIGNMENT – It is important that the parents of your students know that you value the arts in the classroom! Pretend you are a classroom teacher in an Early Childhood Classroom (CHOOSE A GRADE! You can choose anything between 3K and 2nd Grade) and create a 2-page, newsletter to the parents that shows them that the arts are key to learning and can promote life-long habits of mind in young people. Consider that after they see and read your newsletter they are clear on why the arts are a valuable component to their child’s education.

Basically, how will you teach your student’s parents what we are learning here!



This is a creative exercise as well as a way for you to show me you understand the deeper values of quality arts education. Feel free to use images, graphic design tools, etc. but be weary of generic clipart as that goes against our principals of artmaking
