Time management & mental health, how they coincide with each and why college students struggle the most with these and how we as a society can help ourselves

PADLET RESOURCE WALL (75 pts)

  • Discuss and research the academic success strategy chosen by your group.
  • Each group member must post resources to the wall. When posting, you
must put, at minimum, your first name at the top of each post. Any
group member that does not post their name on the resource wall will not
    receive credit for the assignment.
  • Additionally, you should discuss any resources available at NLC that
relate to this skill. Include any NLC resources you think will benefit
    your classmates.
  • Post your resources to the Padlet resource wall created for your group topic.
  • Your Padlet should align with the following minimum guidelines:
    • Each Padlet resource wall should contain a minimum of 30-35 resources total (you may add more).
    • Your Padlet should include a variety of resources. You may include
resources such as videos, eBooks, magazine and journal articles, and
resources found on credible websites (no blogs, social media posts, or
other self-authored posts, etc.). You may create original resources and
post to your Padlet if you wish, but this is not required.
    • Each Padlet should include the following three subtopics (you may include as many additional subtopics as you choose):
      • Define your topic. Include resources that will help
your classmates understand your topic. Example: If your topic is goal
setting, this part of your resource wall would include resources that
        explain what goal setting means.
      • Why is this topic important? Include resources that
help your classmates understand why they should learn more about your
topic. Example: If your topic is procrastination, this part of your
resource wall may include resources that explain the negative
        consequences of procrastination.
      • How can I master this skill? Include resources that
help your classmates master your chosen topic. Example: If your topic
is time management, this part of your resource wall may include
information on how to make a weekly schedule.
    • Each Padlet must include a minimum of 5 resources from the NLC Library.
      • At least 2-3 of these resources must be articles from the library databases.

GROUP PRESENTATION (10 pts)

  • Plan for your presentation to take about 3-5 minutes.
  • Consider the presentation as a mini “teaching” lesson. Each group
will record their padlet presentation (through zoom or flipgrid).
  • The presentation should include a brief overview of the group topic,
and an explanation of the various types of resources available for
students to learn about and master the group’s chosen topic.
  • You will record your presentation and upload to this page. You can
use flip grid or zoom to film. The easiest way might be to create a zoom
room and record everything together as a group or by yourself. You will
be sharing your screen as you speak about your topic. Please turn your
camera on so I can see you!

INDIVIDUAL DISCUSSION RESPONSE (15 pts)

  • Each group member should post a 150-word reply to the Academic
Success Presentation discussion board after the group project concludes.
  • Your discussion post response should answer the following questions:
    • Why is your topic an essential skill for successful college students? How will it be helpful?
    • What did you learn about your topic that you feel will help you and
how can you apply what you learned about your topic to your own
learning? Example: If your group chose time management, how will you use
what you learned to improve your own time management?
