🎯 YOUR AIM: You will identify direct quotes in the articles you’ve already found in Opposing Viewpoints database that support your thesis statement (your “PRO” articles that you’ve already found). You’ll then explain in your own words how those quotes provide solid reasons for your reader to believe your argument and adopt your position. Finally, you’ll refute an opposing viewpoint (found in your “CON” article), which will further strengthen your thesis.

For this assignment, you will fill out a worksheet (see purple highlighted link below) that contains a few charts. Here’s what you’ll do on the worksheet’s charts:
First, you’ll restate your thesis statement (your claim) that you created in Week 11’s Assignment. Don’t forget to look at the feedback I’ve given you.
Then, the worksheet’s charts will start to help you answer these questions: Why are you making this statement? What are your reasons and what research do you have to back you up?
Next, you’ll refer back to the three “PRO” articles and one “CON” article that you had found in the Opposing Viewpoints database in Week 9’s Assignment.
You will use your three “PRO” articles to create your three Thesis Statement Supports.
You will use your “CON” article to create your Counterargument. Since you want to persuade your readers to adopt your viewpoint, you want to also prove why the opposite (the “CON”) viewpoint is incorrect and why your viewpoint is the correct one to believe.
