Professionals use action research to develop evidence-based, data-driven solutions for a need in the workplace.
You will develop an action research proposal paper across Modules 1-4 of this course. In this assignment, you are developing the first part of the paper. You will also create a reference section and update it as you add to the paper in the next assignments.
In this course, you will use the action research process to address a problem, issue, or area of need in your current or future-desired workplace. Use pseudonyms to protect the identity of your workplace and stakeholders.
Step 1
Brainstorm and identify a problem, issue, or area of need in your current or future desired workplace as the focus of your action research.
Though you won’t actually complete the study, developing a proposal around a real problem will add value to the process and help fine-tune your continuous improvement skills.
Then, gather information to better understand the problem, including, for example, existing data, observations, and input from internal stakeholders.
Step 2
Download the Action Research Proposal Paper Template.
In this Module 1 assignment, you will compose an APA-formatted paper to include the following:
- Title page
- Introduction
- Problem
- Purpose
- Research Questions
- Figure 1
- Reference page
The length of your Module 1 paper progress should be 3-4 pages, not including the title or reference page. You will add to this paper in the next few modules until the total length becomes 18-20 pages.
Before submitting your assignment, remove the instructions on page 1 so your submission is an APA-formatted paper. You may leave the headings and prompts for the sections you write in Modules 2-4 as they are.
Step 3
Compose the sections of your paper using the prompts in the template for each section.
Review the Figure 1 Examples before composing your alignment table.
Step 4
Use the assignment rubric to ensure you have met all requirements.
Then, submit your paper.
- Follow APA 7th edition.
- Use 11-point Arial or 12-point Times New Roman font.
- Canvas supports mp4, .doc/.docx, .ppt/.pptx, .xls/.xlsx, and .pdf file formats.
