“The Windhover”-Hopkins and “Hap”-Hardy
The paper can NOT have any AI generated text, as I have to submit it to Turnitin, and my professor already thinks that I have a beaurocratic tone and even accused me of using AI, in which I have not done so.
Contrast their views in the poem.
Hopkins views religion as a source of happiness and uses the bird (the Windhover) as a symbol of religion and even possibly God. He finds peace in knowing that God is all around him, within the soil, fires, the bird, the wind.
Hardy shows the speakers loss of faith and religion within his poem “Hap.” He chooses not to capitlize the word god, highlighting the fact that he has lost all hope in god and religion, he then chooses to capitalize the words, Time, Powerfuller, Casualty, and Doomsters showing he believes more that life and its outcomes are governed by those things rather than religion.
