Submit a 500-700 word response paper (2-3 pages double-spaced, 12-point font). The first part of the paper should discuss the contents of the film/talk (approximately 1 pages). The second half of the paper should connect the talk to to course themes and readings, referencing appropriate readings (1-2 pages).
Dr. Perry is among the nation’s leading experts on Christian nationalism and its impact on American politics. He has published dozens of peer-reviewed articles on the subject as well as two books, including the award-winning Taking America Back for God and The Flag and the Cross. He frequently speaks and writes for non-academic audiences around the country and in 2022, Dr. Perry was also invited to provide expert testimony to the January 6 Committee on the role of Christian nationalism in the Capitol Riots on January 6, 2021. He is a frequent contributor for TIME Magazine and has recently appeared in documentaries by Frontline, Al Jazeera, and the forthcoming documentary film Bad Faith: Christian Nationalism’s War on Democracy.
