Risk factors predisposing women to cardiovascular disease: smaller body size, declining estrogen levels, coronary arteries smaller in diameter, and higher resting ejection fraction
included in the presentation: Some cardiovascular risk factors that subject women to diseases are decreased estrogen levels and low body weight. The hormonal changes that occur during menopause can increase the risk of cardiovascular events in the form of higher blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Being underweight can produce overwhelming effects on the heart and circulation. When the heart muscle is lost, the heart becomes weaker. Blood pressure drops and the heart rate decreases. This elevates the level of risk for arrythmias and other issues.
