Exploring Feminist Theory, Class, and Race in the Portrayal of Female Criminality in Netflix show Good Girls (by Jenna Bans)

For the final research paper, your task is to choose a TV show, movie, book, or other piece of media from pop culture as your case study. You will then analyze the case using concepts from feminist theory and form an argument based on the case and your research. Your final paper must: 

• Be 12  pages in length

• be mostly your own original work and ideas

• cite any ideas that are not your own (from the syllabus or otherwise)

• contain a thesis statement that

• makes an argument, and

• should include the central reasoning for your argument

• have an introduction, a series of supporting arguments, a conclusion, and a bibliography page

Formatting: 

• 12 pages in length 

• Double-spaced, standard margins, standard font (12 times New Roman)

• Put the course number, instructor name, your name, your student number, date submitted in the header or at the top of the first page

• Include a Bibliography

• Submit via a .doc, .docx, or .pdf file.

Citation:

• Use whichever conventional citation style you like (Chicago, MLA, APA, etc) as long as you use it consistently.

• How many sources should you include? Quality over quantity, but for a paper this length at the third year level, aim for ~10 academic sources.

• Remember to cite your chosen piece of media as well!

Attached you will find a detailed outline that I have constructed to facilitate the writing process. Additionally, I have also attached some class readings and titled them with their key concepts. All of these concepts are class/ Feminist concepts that must be included in the paper. Additionally I have found some interesting other readings that I added below. You do not have to use them if you don’t deem them relevant (asides from the first link as it was given by the prof) but please do keep in mind that we are still required a total of 10 academic sources for this paper (from google scholars). Now for the Netflix series The chosen Show is Good Girls written by Jenna Bans. In my opinion seasons 1-3 have a lot of potential key concepts. It is required to use scenes as examples (I can help with that if need be). I really need a good grade for this paper. In the last paper you wrote for this test they failed me. That being said, I really hope that this time around I can get a grade to help salvage the failing one. Please keep in mind that our papers go through systems to detect plagiarism and AI.
