You are required to have a reflective thesis statement. Typically, this is found at the end
of your introductory paragraph; this statement states your reflection(s) on the lesson
material to be expounded on in your essay. Your thesis statement should directly reflect
on a lesson(s) in the essay’s functional area and include reflective phrasing.
Throughout the essay, you will expand on your thesis statement to develop your
reflections. These reflections should be developed from your own personal insights
gained while participating in the lessons. Therefore, make sure your thesis statement
directly reflects on the lesson material in the functional area.
Your essay should be structured as follows: an introduction ending with your thesis
statement, two or more body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
Create complete body paragraphs that expand on your thesis statement. Each body paragraph should have a clear, specific topic tied into the thesis statement and end with a
transition sentence. This is where you will demonstrate your knowledge of your chosen
topic. Your body paragraphs should include a combination of original thought and
supporting material to develop your argument.
Any supporting material used in your essay that is not your own original thought must
give credit to the original source; this helps avoid any accidental plagiarism issues within
your essay. Use Chicago style format and have a work cited page at the end using 4-5 different sources. Sources must be reliable and credible sources.
Use a first-person point of view {I, we, us, etc} when writing this
paper.
