The student does not need to go into specific details if they have engaged in crime. The purpose is to relate the theories discussed in class to how this could influence the student in engaging in crime and to provide examples in relation. The student can use hypothetical scenarios to help, but able to also use personal experience (the student is able to use themselves or someone that they know but leave out names).
Introduction (15pts): Overall reflection on how crime can begin and be influenced on a person/group. A broad description of the theories discussed as in how they relate to contributing factors of engaging in crime.
Body (25pts): Pick 1 or 2 specific theories that have/could relate the most to you and/or someone that you know. Be sure to describe this theory (theories) in more detail than above and how the factors increased criminal behavior/potential criminal behavior. Feel free to use sub-theories within a major theory.
Conclusion (10pts): Wrap up and overall reflection/analysis of different factors that can lead a person to crime and your own personal reflection of which theory (theories) you believe have the biggest influence.
