(1) Description

informed by adequate research. You may draw on prior coursework and expertise
of faculty in your area of study.

and supporting argument that defends or critiques a substantive claim about the
controversy in question. Your argument must incorporate some of the following

of and response to at least one substantive objection to your thesis.
