Data analysis is a critical element of the research process. When data are analyzed accurately, the findings and results are more reliable and valid.
You have composed the first three parts of your action research proposal paper in this course. In this assignment, you will add to your 13- to 14-pages from Module 3 to submit your completed 18- to 20-page paper, not including the title page or reference page(s).
You will compose a plan for how you will analyze the data you outlined in the data collection plan; propose an action plan for future implementation; discuss reliability and validity; identify and reflect on a potential target audience who may benefit from the study’s findings; and reflect on the action research process.
In this assignment, you will compose the Module 4 sections from the Action Research Proposal Paper Template, including the appendix with the proposed action plan.
Step 1
Read your instructor’s feedback on your paper’s progress in the Module 3 assignment. If needed, adjust your work before moving forward.
Step 2
Review the required readings, the presentations, and the following resources for this assignment:
Qualitative Data Analysis Models
Descriptive Statistics and Quantitative Data Analysis
Reliability and Validity Comparison Table and Glossary
Step 3
Compose the new sections of your APA-formatted paper. Incorporate in-text citations and add to your reference page. Use the bracketed text from the paper template to prompt your writing.
Under the Data Analysis Plan Level 1 heading, describe how each data collection method outlined in the plan would be analyzed, including any steps in the process and any software programs such as NVivo (a qualitative software program) or SPSS (a quantitative software program).
Before you compose the Proposed Action Plan for Implementation section under the Level 1 heading, complete the Proposed Action Plan template as an appendix after the reference page(s). Summarize how you will implement your action research plan, including your intended target audience and communication methods. Include specific strategies to facilitate communication with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds. Include plans to share results with multiple stakeholder groups and varied communication strategies according to the intended audiences.
You are only proposing this action plan, not implementing it. Therefore, you cannot complete the gold highlighted cells in the proposed action plan template. Leave these blank.
In the Reliability and Validity section, describe how you would use triangulation to increase the reliability and validity of your action research. Explain how you will address the three ethical principles of the Belmont Report—respect of persons, beneficence, and justice. Explain how you would protect those who are the subjects or participants in your research study, including protecting the privacy and safety (physical, social, emotional) of all subjects involved in the research.
Under the Findings Level 2 heading, compose a paragraph explaining how the action research proposal’s findings would benefit the stakeholders and target population.
Finally, compose a 1- to 2-paragraph Reflection about the action research process. How did you use feedback from others to modify or develop your proposal? How does the action research process make you more equipped to be a leader who guides decision-making founded on evidence and data? How else might you use this process in the future?
Step 4
Proofread your finished paper from beginning to end.
Use the assignment rubric to informally assess your work and ensure you have met all requirements for the Module 4 components.
Submit your paper.
In next week’s Module 5 assignment, you’ll develop an audiovisual presentation to garner support from your colleagues to implement your proposed plan. Begin thinking about who this professional audience would be and what they would need to know.
As appropriate to the product required in the assignments, ACE uses these guidelines:
- Follow APA 7th edition.
- Use 11-point Arial or 12-point Times New Roman font.
- Canvas supports mp4, .doc/.docx, .ppt/.pptx, .xls/.xlsx, and .pdf file formats.

20 to >17.0 pts
Mastery
A description of how each data collection method outlined in the plan would be analyzed is included, along with any steps in the process and any software programs such as NVivo (a qualitative software program) or SPSS (a quantitative software program). Descriptions demonstrate a thorough understanding of each strategy and its use in action research.

The Proposed Action for Implementation section of the paper contains a detailed summary of how the action research plan would be implemented. Communication plans include detailed information about how, when, and with whom the results would be shared. Plans include specific strategies to facilitate communication with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds. Includes plans to share results with multiple stakeholder groups and varied communication strategies according to the intended audiences. The Proposed Action Plan template is clear and easy to follow, and it is included as an Appendix.

A compelling and persuasive case is presented to support adequate reliability, validity, and ethical considerations for the action research project. Describes, with examples, how triangulation would increase the reliability and validity of the action research study. Explains how the three ethical principles of The Belmont Report—respect of persons, beneficence, and justice—would be applied to the study. Explains those who are the subjects or participants in your research study would be protected.
