Once you have completed your research, you will organize all of your data and results into a
cohesive written report of your project. Your paper should be organized as follows:
Introduction: Introduce the topic, clarify your thesis statement, describe why you chose this
topic, explain the significance of the issue and what questions you are trying to address,
discuss any background info related to the topic (from your lit. review)
Methodology: Describe in detail the methods you used to collect your data, when and how
you collected your data, the source(s) of your data, etc.
Research Findings: Condense and summarize your research findings, highlight the
main patterns or significant issues that you identified
Analysis & Reflection: Relate your findings to the course material. What can be
understood from your research? What is significant about this topic? How does it give us a
better understanding of the relationship between individuals, families and society? What
have you learned from this project? What conclusions can you make for your research?
How does this information impact families or the community? What more can be done or is
needed? (These are just some questions to get you started, but don’t feel limited by them.)
Works Cited: Include proper citation of all of your sources throughout your paper and a
comprehensive list of your sources at the end of the paper. You should use APA or MLA
