A research problem statement is a clear, concise, and specific statement describing the issue or problem the research project addresses. It should be written in a way that is easily understandable to both experts and non-experts in the field. In fact, your very first sentence should directly inform the reader of the exact problem. Following this statement, you should include a detailed description of the evidence for this problem’s existence in the context you are studying it. Provide the statistics, data, and studies demonstrating the breadth and depth of the problem as it occurs at large. Show the reader the implications of the problem when left unaddressed. In this section, you may describe how the problem manifests within your organization, field, community, or institution. The Research Problem Statement should be at least 250 words, about a page double-spaced. You must cite a minimum of two peer-reviewed references in proper APA formatting.
