Final Research Paper and Presentation: The assignment is the culminating event in this class. Your Final Research Paper submission and Research Presentation will demonstrate what you have learned from your research in the context of this course and your overall individual line of research and will be 2000-2500 words in length (not including the title page, abstract, or references). This should NOT be simply a continuation of your draft, as it should be assumed that you have learned a great deal and would want to make significant changes. It is expected that much of your draft will be included in the Final Research Paper submission but “cut and paste” of entire paragraphs is not what is expected unless clearly warranted. It will not be considered plagiarism if you use parts or even a great deal of your draft paper, however, it should be obvious that you have continued to develop your research, gaining new insights that have clearly affected your thinking, and that you are now able to finally draw specific and well thought out conclusions presented in a well-developed concluding section. Please know that in academic writing, the conclusion section is normally considered the most important part of a paper. Hence, if you offer a paragraph or two as a “conclusion”, you will likely failthe assignment, because that is a summary and not graduate-level research-based conclusions. Your argument and related research should be presented as concise, precise, consistent, logical, and generally cogent. This is an opportunity to start or continue a line of research that you are interested in pursuing related to Ethics & Organizational Behavior but specifically related to the philosophy of moral leadership.
