The final essay is a response to A Good Man is Hard to Find. In the old days this is how argument was most often taught. Students would read literature and make an argument about some element of the creative work. This is what I want you to do. This will involve some opinion you hold about the story. But you opinion must be backed up by the text itself.
However, that doesn’t mean no research. You can provide voices that agree with you, expert voices. Not peers or non-experts of literature. I want you to find one academic book are article at the library. Seek journals. I want 3 sources minimum.
Now, there are aspect of this story that you might be able to interview some one local. Not a peer. But as you read the story, and you see some aspect, ask me about who you might interview for that aspect.
As before, the essay must be written in third person. Always. It must be 1800 words minimum. It must be in MLA form and MLA documentation. You need a debatable argumentative thesis. Nothing has changed from the other essays in terms of what I expect.
