Assessing the Implementation of Safeguarding Children in Sport Strategies in Caribbean Sporting Organizations
I am hoping a research methodolgy that speaks to a cross section study be designed. One that emcompasses both quantitative and qualitative methods. Surveys and semi-structured interviiews can be designed to gather data.
Research Design: Cross sectional study: To Assess the current state of safeguarding childrenin sport strategies in caribbean sporting organizations.
Sampling Strategy:
Populaion: Al registered sporting organizations in the caribbean
Sampling Technique: Stratified random sampling based on country and type of sport.
Sample size:?
Data collection: Surveys/Questionnaires to gathe quantitative data on the implementation of safeguarding childing in sport strategies.
Include questions about policy existence, content, training programs, challenges and monoring mechanisms.
Interviews: Create a bank of questions for Semi structured interviews with key stakeholders from sporting organizations, governmental agencies, child protection agencies etc.
I may also need to perform document reviews of existing policies, guidelines and reports.
Ethical considerations: Informed consent, ensuring confidentiality and anonymity of respondents.

The following are some proposed research question that I’m seeking to answer:
1. What is the level of awareness among sporting organizations in the Caribbean regarding the importance of safeguarding children in sport?
2. To what extent do Caribbean sporting organizations have formalized/official Safeguarding Children in Sport policies or strategies in place?
3. What are the key components of Safeguarding Children in Sport strategies implemented by Caribbean sporting organizations? If any?
4. How do Caribbean sporting organizations educate/sensitive staff, volunteers, and participants about safeguarding children in sport?
5. What challenges do Caribbean sporting organizations face in implementing and enforcing Safeguarding Children in Sport strategies?
6. What support mechanisms are available to Caribbean sporting organizations to facilitate the implementation of safeguarding measures?
7. How do Caribbean sporting organizations monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of their Safeguarding Children in Sport strategies?
8. What are the attitudes and perceptions of stakeholders (e.g., coaches, parents, athletes) towards safeguarding children in sport within Caribbean sporting organizations?
9. What are the cultural factors influencing the implementation of Safeguarding Children in Sport strategies in the Caribbean?
10. What are the best practices and recommendations for enhancing the implementation of Safeguarding Children in Sport strategies in Caribbean sporting organizations based on the findings?
I will also like a survey created that I can pilot to conduct this reseach. Questions that can be asked for the qualitative aspect would also be quite helpful.
