Unraveling Ancient Mesopotamia: The Cultural, Historical, and Sociological Context of “The Epic of Gilgamesh”

 The author and literary work I plan to write about is
“The Epic of Gilgamesh,” an ancient Mesopotamian epic poem. How does
“The Epic of Gilgamesh” reflect the cultural, historical, and
sociological context of ancient Mesopotamia, and what insights does it offer
into the values and beliefs of the society? I am drawn to “The Epic of
Gilgamesh” due to its status as one of the earliest surviving works of
literature and its significance in understanding ancient Mesopotamian
civilization. The epic presents a captivating narrative that dives into
timeless themes such as friendship, the human condition, and the search for
meaning. My interest in this literature stems from a desire to unravel the
