You are asked to prepare a written exploration of various elements which constitute your engagement with this module’s introduction to therapeutic psychology and practice. In broad terms, your exploration should be divided into three distinct elements, each of which is permitted at your discretion to be signposted for clarity by means of headings and subheadings.
1. You should present a consideration of matters likely to have an impact on therapeutic practice, whereby various debates and/or controversies of interest to you are briefly outlined.
2. Next, you should use a case-study of a fictional or non-fictional character from a book, TV show or podcast to demonstrate an ability to practise case formulation from a therapeutic approach of your choice.
3. Finally, you should reflect on whether and how your use of skills-practice sessions has informed your understanding of therapeutic interventions. Your coursework should include both citations and references, as appropriate.
