Your memo should be 2-3 pages long and include APA in-text and end citations. Use Calibri 12pt. font.

Subject: Enter the subject line of your memo. It should convey the central purpose of your communication.

(NOTE: There is no salutation in a memo as there is in a letter or an email.)

First paragraph (Purpose and Background): What is the purpose of the memo?  Provide enough background on the topic so that the reader understands the problem you are addressing and the reasons you are proposing changes to the company’s policies and procedures for internal communication.  This might include:

·      a brief re-cap of the scenario involving a customer’s missing package, 

·      a summary of current communication methods used,

·      an explanation about why the current communication methods need to be addressed,

·      and any other relevant information that establishes the purpose and background for your memo.

 

Second paragraph (Proposal): Detail the changes you propose.   Be specific. 

 

 

 

Third paragraph (Significance/Rationale): Explain how these changes will improve your organization. Again, be specific.     

 

References: List the works you consulted on a separate page. List them in alphabetical order by author, following the APA style guidelines.
