The project in this class is an individual project. You will choose from three options. Note: The final option, NICE challenge, is exactly what the title indicates, a challenge. You will have to conduct research on your own to complete so it may be frustrating to some, while a learning experience for others. Feel free to discuss this option with your instructor.
Option 1:
Conduct research on a topic related to the security of Windows operating systems.
Some potential topics are:
- Regulatory requirements for Securing Windows OS (i.e., FISMA, SOC, HIPPA)
- Server or desktop
- Framework requirements for Securing Windows OS (i.e., ISO, NIST, COBIT)
- Research security tools related to securing the Windows Operating System (Desktop or Server)
- Methods for automating the security of Windows-based systems
- Securing windows operating system in a cloud environment
- Comparison of security features in Windows vs Linux
Note: These are high-level suggestions, students must define their specific topic.
