In
this module you will identify the framework of project, as well as  the methods for the project. You will also
re-visit previous class information regarding SWOT, Risk Management, Organizational Readiness and Budget.
All were addressed in depth in previous classes.

The
purpose of the SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) is to
examine the setting where your project is being done and thinking about the
success of your project. Once the SWOT is done then it is time to move on to a
Risk Management Plan using the weaknesses and threats to address how the risks
can be managed. The strengths and weaknesses are considered internal factors
and opportunities and threats are considered external factors over which you
may not have control. Create a SWOT table just like you did in previous classes
as you think about your planned project.

Now
let’s talk about Risk Management. Risks have a probability of occurring and can
have positive or negative affect on the project. In the SWOT risks were
identified in the weaknesses and threats. Once you know the risks it is
important to create a Risk Management plan because it helps to identify how
likely the event may occur and the impact, which will affect your project.
Create your Risk Management plan as you did in previous classes as you think
about your planned project.

Next is the Organizational Readiness
tool
. Previously you learned
how to use enablers such as education, information, technology,
interprofessional collaboration and teamwork to create a strong team and how
that the Organizational Readiness tool could be used to determine the how ready
your organization is for a change. If the assessment is 50 or above your
organization is ready for change, ir it is less than 50 your organization may
need some improvement by enablers to make a change. Complete the Organizational
Readiness tool to determine how ready your organization is for a change.

Next, create a GANTT chart that will show your timeline.  In a previous course you learned how to
create a timeline using the GANTT chart.
You have also written specific detailed objectives that you will
complete while working on your project.

Last is the Budget. You created a budget in a previous
class to identify what costs there might be for this project. Who will cover
those costs? Do you have a plan to cover printing, tools you will use for
patients (glucose monitor, BP), what about the cost of labor for your team
members?  Every project has cost, if
nothing more than time. Create a budget thinking about your  project. I knew of a project one time that
had a cost of beds (expensive items), but when it was presented to admin they
realized that the cost of beds was less than the cost of one pressure ulcer and
was willing to allow the project to be completed. Create a budget for your own
project and include revenue and expenditures.
