1. The articles you are supposed to finding and reviewing should be peer-reviewed. Not all articles are peer reviewed. Please make sure they are. Here is how you should do so.
- Scroll down to “psycinfo”
- click on “Advanced search”
- Scroll to where it says “peer reviewed” and check the box next to it.
- Go back up and search for the articles
- Tip: You can also select “choose databases” and then “select all” if you want more results to show up.
2. Please upload all articles along with your papers. In the past, students have used chat-gpt, which generated articles which didn’t even exist. As a result, papers will not be accepted unless they are accompanied by the PDFs of the articles you found. If Canvas won’t let you upload them with your paper, just email them to me, no problem. This is not a difficult activity.
3. This is important for the accuracy of your writing: As you are analyzing your article, ask yourself the following question: Regardless of what the title of the paper says, or how the authors are interpreting the study, what is this actually evidence of? Is this evidence of the impact of COVID-19, or is this evidence of the impact of lockdown policy? There is a clear difference between the two. Make sure you pay attention to these details when analyzing your studies. If it isn’t evidence of the impact of COVID-19, but rather, the impact of lockdown policy, you absolutely can use it for the assignment, but when you discuss the paper itself, you should frame it correctly, even if the authors of the articles did not.
